Domain Name Hosting Considerations
Customer service -
When selecting a hosting service, customer service is paramount. You will want to consider the following:
a. Hours of operation.
b. Live chat and phone chat.
c. Email service.
d. What levels of service come with the hosting plan you choose. Will they assist you or actually transfer files for you?
How much customer service will they give you by phone, email, fax, etc.?
e. Is this a shared hosting service or your own host? Besides the obvious (in that a shared server is less expensive because you are on a platform with lots of other web businesse), your own server may be best. But that is a decision you can make for yourself.
So where do you want to host? Do a little more research. Keep in mind what your needs are and if you are just starting out. If you are just starting out, then you may want to go with a shared hosting service with great customer service and many ways to acces them. After that, just use trial and error.
Don’t ever be afraid to learn in this business. Most of your domain business success will come in some of your failures. Just know it now — it’s part of the process. So don’t be discouraged, just keep going.
